Transelect received a Commendation at the 2011 National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) NSW Excellence Awards. The Awards were presented at a Luncheon held on 23 September, 2011 at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre, Darling Harbour. Transelect received the Commendation for the 33kV Springhill to Wongawilli Transmission Feeder project, a joint project with Bass Electrical Engineering.
Transelect provided strategic infrastructure upgrade works associated with the installation of a new power supply facility at an Illawarra colliery. Work included consultancy, design and construction of a new dedicated 35MVA rated, 33kV feeder between the energy authority’s zone substation and the colliery site. Old supply lines were replaced, enabling long-term reliable power supply to the mine. The new feeder is a combination of both overhead power line and underground cable and has a total route length of 11,751 metres.
